Leo Tolstoy

 Leo Tolstoy was born in Yasnaya Polyana, Russia, On September 9, 1828,

 In the 1860s, he wrote his first great novel, War and Peace.
is widely regarded as one of the most important works of literature.

In 1873, Tolstoy set to work on the second of his best known novels, Anna Karenina.

follows the tragic life of married socialite Anna and her affair with the wealthy Count Vronsky.

Anna grows increasingly paranoid and insecure that Vronsky will prove unfaithful, while issues such as politics, religion, gender and social class are all explored in detail.

 Leo continued to write fiction throughout the 1880s and 1890s. One of his most successful later works was The Death of Ivan Ilyich.  Leo Tolstoy died on November 20, 1910 in Astapovo, Russia.
